Where is heaven, Ester?
25 September 2009

Co-founder of 'Separated Child' and award-winning sculptor Jonty Hurwitz has created a special piece in memory of Ester Gluck, our inspiration. Where is heaven, Ester? uses layered copper mesh and "explores how it is possible to inhabit two spaces at a single time". Jonty has generously donated this work of art to the Foundation.

Eid Mubarak!
22 September 2009

When we heard the Refugee Council was holding an Eid party again this year, we wanted to give a going home present to all the separated young people - Muslim and non-Muslim - who came along. So our trusty volunteers Vesna Kuzmanovska and Kira Mendelsohn loved giving out Polo shirts to the boys and 'Race for Life' tops to the girls. The young people really loved their gifts and a good time was had by all!

A Gold Star for Big Yellow!
21 August 2009

Our Arrival Packs project is expanding, as we're developing new ways to get these bags of essentials into the hands of newly arrived separated children and young people. The increased turnover of goods meant that we needed more space to store, sort and pack. Lucky for us, Big Yellow Self Storage has rallied round once more with a generous offer of an extra space.

It's on the table!
1 July 2009

The work of our volunteers who create Arrival Packs is so much easier these days since Fluid Event and Recruitment donated sturdy folding tables on which to sort and pack goods efficiently. We'd like to put our heartfelt thanks on the table!
