The Separated Child Foundation
Dedicated to supporting separated children and young people,
helping restore dignity, autonomy, and ambition.
The Separated Child Foundation offers emotional, social and practical support to refugee children and young people.
Each year around 4,000 unaccompanied children and young people seek asylum within the UK, having been separated from their community, family, homes and safety.
Our vision is to ensure that every separated refugee child and young person arriving here gets the support they need.
What we do
The Separated Child Foundation offers emotional, social, financial and physical support to separated children and young people in the UK, up to the age of 21. We also engage in educational activities that raise awareness of their needs and encourage positive responses to them.
Volunteer with us
Can you spare a few hours a month to help us ensure that every separated child arriving in the UK can be given one of our packs when they first arrive? We’re looking for new volunteers – including Pack Leaders – to help us create arrival packs and sleep packs, offering comfort and dignity to separated children.
Support us
By choosing to donate to The Separated Child Foundation you will be making a real difference to the lives of the young people we support. We rely on your donations to enable us to provide our services to support separated children when they need it.
Letter to the Home Secretary
Together with 225 community groups from around the UK, we are asking the Home Secretary to “focus on what unites us, find common ground and offer our humanity to those who have already suffered enough.” You can join the campaign today.
Child Refugee Stories
The voices of the children we support are powerful. We have collected some of their stories and projects that they have been involved in. These are informative and moving.
